PESHAWAR: At least 20 militants, including a key commander of Darra Adamkhel Taliban, were killed Saturday in jet fighter strikes in different parts of Tirrah Valley.

At least five militants including a key commander were killed on Saturday in a clash between security forces and militants in the Mattani area of Peshawar, sources said.

According to official sources, the clash took place near the town of Darra Adam Khel, leaving five militants, including key commander Mustafa alias Manan of Darra Adamkhel Taliban, dead.

Two security personnel were also injured in the clash.

With the deadly Taliban attack on Peshawar's Army Public School, the army offensive against militants appears to be gearing up after the country's political and military leadership agreed on a full-blown operation.

Two militants, two policemen killed in Charsadda

At least two suspected militants and two policemen were killed on Saturday in the Saro Kalley area of Charsadda district, sources said.

According to official sources, after receiving a tip-off about the presence of suspects, security personnel carried out an operation in the Badi Kor area of Saro Kalley.

During the operation, a gunbattle erupted in which two militants and two policemen were killed.

Two policemen were also injured during the operation. The injured policemen were shifted to a hospital.
